Whitman College’s Earth Day 2009 is quite the shindig, a celebration so full of energy that it encompasses a week in the small Pacific-Northwest town of Walla Walla. A series of movie screenings, panels, and parties are designed to stir appreciation of the world around us as well as prompt serious discussion on sustainability and [...]

OBJECTIVE: Redesign the Netflix homepage along with two of its subpages. Original content was not to be altered.
A interactive PDF of the site is available here. Best viewed in Adobe Acrobat 8+.

OBJECTIVE: Prove basic Illustrator proficiency by drawing an insect. I rectified my terrible sense of scale by naming my new species after its overwhelming size.

The Legend of the Lost Tablet is an adventure book written by an aspiring 5th grader.

I did several mockups for next year’s Study Abroad catalogs. The covers always feature student photography from the current years travels, but that selection process is still ongoing so I used some stock images. These are my two favorites, but they won’t be completed until July or so, so who knows what will go to [...]

I was recently comissioned by the UNEP to create a poster for a youth conference being held this weekend in Chicago. I was given the “Kick the Habit” logo, and a general color scheme. I was really happy with my integration of the logo with the iconic Sears tower.

In anticipation for next spring I decided to do a poster for my wall. Both decorative and informative.

I wanted to try out a new technique, and who better to use it on than my buddy Brett making a leaping save at keeper. He once told me the quote used in the piece, and I think it fits him well. Anyway, at least it gives me something to shoot for as I write [...]

I’ve done the cover and book design for SCKWP the past couple years. I completed the cover a few weeks ago and am currently wrapping up the innards. Props to Alex for the cover photo.

The Pioneer comes out with its first issue Sept. 18. Between now and then, I have to finish this template. I’ll have a full writeup with the final product, as elements are likely to shift in the next week.

T-shirt design for the lab I’m working at this summer. As you can see, we are pretty badass.

Logo concept for a campaign for Olympic fencer Tim Morehouse’s campaign to encourage 10,000 people to try out fencing.

This logo was the beginning of a long campaign of developing and identity for a technology education startup that I worked for in Wichita, KS.

I completed this logo while tutoring for the America Reads America Counts (ARAC) program at Whitman College.

This logo goes way back to high school. I was in the IB Theatre Arts class, and elected to do the advertising and promotion for our winter musical as a final project. It was a lot of fun, and looking back, this was my first focused effort to design something graphically.
